Jewish Transplant Care is pleased that in 2018, we have seen continued growth, excellence and investment in strengthening the life-saving work that we do. In the program’s 53-year history, we are serving more patients than ever before.
In 2018, Jewish Transplant Care, in collaboration with the University of Louisville, reached several milestones, including transplanting our 500th heart and 300th lung. This is in addition to the 3,000th kidney, 900th liver and 5,000th organ transplant milestones reached in 2017.
Our clinical outcomes continue to be excellent. Delivering this standard of patient care and achieving these outcomes has always been – and continues to be – the highest priority for the Transplant Program. As a result of this commitment to excellence, we are very pleased to report that Jewish Transplant Care, in collaboration with our partners at the University of Louisville, achieved or exceeded national benchmarks related to transplant outcomes according to the most recent data reported by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR).
We have also recently launched several initiatives to better serve patients across the region:
We have launched a new social media campaign featuring videos of our physicians, surgeons, nurses, transplant coordinators and our patients. Their stories and experiences describe the uniqueness of the Transplant Program at Jewish Hospital – it’s a community that is deeply committed to patient care and to positively affecting lives of people in our region. Watch the videos below to learn more. Please feel free to share with your family and friends and tell your own story of care.
At Jewish Transplant Care, in collaboration with the University of Louisville, we are committed to providing the highest level of transplant care and services to patients and their families in Kentucky and our region. Thank you for the trust you place in our program.
