Michael Brent Resource Center & References

Located on the 11th floor of Frazier Rehab Institute, the Michael Brent Resource Center is an area for inpatients, outpatients, families, community groups to meet and access resources regarding spinal cord injuries.

The Center provides information to patients and their families about spinal cord injury (SCI) and other disabilities. Functioning as a lending library of books, magazines, DVDs, and CDs, the Center also provides computers with adaptive access to the internet. In addition, the Center’s website, www.spinalcordmedicineresources.com, lists a calendar of events, current news about SCI, and links to web-based resources.

The Center is supported by Friends for Michael Inc., a non-profit group dedicated to raising funds and awareness of spinal cord injury in memory of Michael Brent.  Friends for Michael Inc. was developed in 1997 when 18-year-old Michael Brent suffered a spinal cord injury as a result of an automobile accident. A group of friends banded together to assist in raising funds to assist with medical expenses and named themselves Friends for Michael Inc. Unfortunately, Michael Brent passed away suddenly in 2007, but his memory lives on through Friends for Michael and now the Michael Brent Resource Center.

The Center is open from 8 - a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  For more information about the Michael Brent Resource Center, visit www.spinalcordmedicineresources.com.
