About Heart Care

KentuckyOne Health is at the forefront in state-of-the-art, revolutionary heart and vascular care. Through many “firsts” at both Jewish Hospital in Louisville and Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, we provide the most comprehensive heart and vascular services in the Commonwealth.

Whether you’re in need of heart attack care; transplant or mechanical device care for advanced heart failure; minimally invasive treatments for valvular diseases like aortic stenosis or mitral regurgitation; vascular care for an aneurysm or artery disease; cardiac rehabilitation at one of our Healthy Lifestyle Centers; heart rhythm care for a cardiac arrhythmia; or some other type of heart and vascular service, KentuckyOne Health is the place to go.

Our team of highly trained and skilled specialists, who have access to the best equipment and newest treatments, are paving the way for revolutionary procedures like transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and MitraClip.

Through our partnership with the University of Louisville and its physicians, KentuckyOne Health is applying next-generation cardiovascular research, such as adult stem cell therapy, in a clinical setting that gives patients more treatment options.

When it comes to your heart and vascular care, KentuckyOne Health is the clear choice.

Kim Saunders' New Heart

Kim Saunders life was going pretty well back in 2001. But after going to see her doctor with what she thought was the flu, she received a much more serious diagnosis. She had a type of heart disease that would eventually stop her heart from functioning. Kim learned about a Ventricular Assist Device, or VAD from her Cardiologist. This mechanical pump takes blood from the lower chamber of the heart and helps move it through the body. Kim had this life saving surgery at Jewish Hospital, a part of KentuckyOne Health. It’s thanks to support from people just like you that Kim was able to receive a VAD right here in Louisville. Your support of the American Heart Association has helped bring life-saving procures like this to patients not only nationwide, but to friends and family members here just down the street.
