Division of Diversity and Inclusion

KentuckyOne Health’s Division of Diversity and Inclusion works to ensure that diversity and inclusion are integrated aspects for driving quality, safe, and exceptional service and care for patients. The division partners with senior leaders, cross-functional councils, internal business units, and the community to impact our organization, empower employees, enrich the patient experience, engage the communities we serve, and support KentuckyOne Health’s efforts to eliminate health disparities.

Our Strategic Objectives

  • Attract, hire, engage, retain and develop the best talent from all walks of life
  • Recruit, promote, develop and engage a diverse and inclusive leadership team
  • Support KentuckyOne Health’s mission of providing culturally competent care to all patients and families
  • Increase awareness of KentuckyOne Health’s commitment to diversity and inclusion within its workforce and the communities it serves
  • Advance safe and equitable care among the diverse communities we serve across the commonwealth

Closing the Gaps Speaker Series

Education is an essential element for fostering a culture of inclusion, health equity, and respect. The goal of KentuckyOne Health’s Diversity and Inclusion Speaker Series: Closing the Gap is to engage KentuckyOne Health’s community in a discussion of issues around a range of topics to

  • Advance cultural competent care in our health care delivery
  • Promote team effectiveness
  • To create an internal common dialog to advance core values of reference, integrity, compassion, and excellence by promoting a culture of diversity, inclusion, dignity, and respect

Open to the entire KentuckyOne Health community, “Closing the Gaps” Lecture and Lunch Series will feature national experts, as well as local experts, in areas of diversity, inclusion, and health equity.

Cultural Competence Corner

KentuckyOne Health Cultural Competence Corner is a quarterly communication created by the Division of Diversity and Inclusion to provide information specific to the diverse populations we serve. Each Cultural Competence Corner publication provides health related information pertinent to populations, specific challenges and blind spots in health care delivery to the population, and recommendations for closing gaps in care. In addition to mandatory cultural competence education, the goal of the Cultural Competence Corner is to advance KentuckyOne’s efforts to achieve health equity and eliminate disparities.
