Host Pink-a-BOO Events for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Saint Joseph Hospital and Saint Joseph East will trade in the traditional Halloween orange and black for pink in recognition of October being breast cancer awareness month. The facilities will host Pink-a-BOO events as part of their Halloween festivities to encourage employees and guests to schedule annual breast cancer screenings. The facilities will be decorated with pink balloons, will conduct pink item giveaways and will offer breast cancer information tables.
One in 8 women and 1 in 1,000 men in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. With so many affected, it is vital to receive an annual breast cancer screening. Early detection and treatment ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
