The Innovations Program provides intensive psychiatric and behavioral treatment for children and adolescents with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities that include Autism Spectrum Disorders,
Traumatic Brain Injury, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome as well as many other diagnoses. Participants attend Peace Academy, a fully accredited school. The focus of treatment is to decrease challenging behaviors
through function based behavioral interventions designed to teach and reinforce more appropriate social and communication skills.
Patients in this program have the opportunity to receive individualized Behavior Analytic, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language services. In addition, patients may participate in our on campus Hippotherapy and Equine therapy program.
Led by our Occupational Therapist our “Riding for Peace” Equine program is designed to address our patients many physical, occupational and sensory needs. Utilizing equine movement, our therapists provide patients with a multi-sensory experience that improves functional outcomes in the areas of physical gait and posture, sensory needs, social skill deficits and self-esteem.
