Why Choose KentuckyOne Health Transplant Care?
At KentuckyOne Health, our mission is to save lives. All day, every day our medical teams research and utilize powerful tools and techniques to not just keep hearts beating, but also to help people live a better quality of life. As one of the leading providers of organ transplantation in the country, Jewish Hospital's transplant care mission is to improve lives, one life-saving transplant at a time.
KentuckyOne Health Transplant Care, a joint program with the University of Louisville School of Medicine, is nationally recognized for performing Kentucky’s first adult heart, pancreas, heart-lung and liver transplant. In addition, our transplant team was also responsible for the first minimally invasive kidney donation in Kentucky.
KentuckyOne Health's Jewish Hospital is a Federally Designated Medicare Heart, Lung, Kidney, Liver and Pancreas Transplant Center, an elite group approved to perform all five solid organ transplants. The Transplant Center is also a member of numerous national transplant networks.
Whether you’re looking for a program to deal with a specific disease, or awaiting a transplant, Jewish Hospital has a caring team designed to walk you through the process, every step of the way. Jewish also offers a Transplant Pharmacy to all past and current transplant recipients. For more information about the pharmacy, click here.

The Gift of Life
In addition to transplantation, Jewish Hospital Transplant Care is actively involved with efforts to increase awareness of the need for organ donation in collaboration with Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of donated organs, many people never receive lifesaving transplants. Our transplant team encourages live donation, when appropriate, and places a priority on public education, helping young people and families understand that donating organs saves lives.
Although you may never need a transplant, you can pass-on the gift of life by signing an organ donation card and discussing your wishes with your family.
