KentuckyOne Health Partners Recognized among Becker’s Hospital Review’s “100 Accountable Care Organizations to Know”

Louisville, Ky. (August 25, 2014)— For the second year in a row, KentuckyOne Health Partners, a provider-based, physician-led clinically integrated network developed by KentuckyOne Health, was recognized as one of Becker’s Hospital Review’s "100 Accountable Care Organizations to Know.” The list highlights some of the most advanced Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) in the country.

ACOs are groups of doctors, hospitals and other health care providers that come together voluntarily to provide coordinated care to Medicare patients. The goal of an ACO is to ensure patients get the care they need, while avoiding unnecessary duplication of services and preventing medical errors.

This year, the editorial team selected ACOs for inclusion based on the number of physicians involved and lives covered, the lifespan of the ACO, whether it has contracts with multiple payers and whether it recently struck new payer agreements.

“It is truly an honor to be listed yet again among the top ACOs in the country,” said Don Lovasz, president, KentuckyOne Health Partners. “Our partners are committed to providing patients with the quality, compassionate care they deserve while improving the overall health to the Commonwealth.”

The full-length edition of the list is available online at www.beckershospitalreview.com.

About KentuckyOne Health
KentuckyOne Health was formed when two major Kentucky health care organizations came together in early 2012. KentuckyOne Health combines the Jewish and Catholic heritages of the two former systems – Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare and Saint Joseph Health System. In late 2012, the organization formed a partnership with the University of Louisville Hospital | James Graham Brown Cancer Center.  The nonprofit system is committed to improving the health of Kentuckians by integrating medical research, education, technology and health care services wherever patients receive care. KentuckyOne Health has more than 200 locations including hospitals, physician groups, clinics, primary care centers, specialty institutes and home health agencies across the state of Kentucky and southern Indiana.
