KentuckyOne Health Names Chief Financial Officer

Louisville, Ky. (July 3 2014) — Randall (Randy) Combs has joined KentuckyOne Health as chief financial officer (CFO). Combs has more than 35 years experience in healthcare, including 22 years as a CFO for both faith-based systems and academic systems.

Combs most recently served as executive vice president of strategic growth and CFO for Mercy Health System in St. Louis, Missouri. Mercy operates in seven states with more than 30 hospitals, 1,600 integrated physicians, $4.5 billion in total operating revenue and 38,000 employees.

Since 1992, Combs has held positions with progressively increasing responsibilities at Mercy overseeing all finance related areas. His previous roles within the Mercy Health System include chief financial officer and chief operating officer at St. John’s Mercy Health Care; chief financial officer and treasurer at St John’s; and chief financial officer and treasurer at Unity Health System.

“As we continue to make positive progress to meet our financial goals, Randy’s expertise and leadership will be very valuable,” said Ruth W. Brinkley, chief executive officer, KentuckyOne Health. “His experience with both faith-based systems and academic systems makes him uniquely qualified for our organization.”

Combs also has an impressive blend of both financial and operational skills and is familiar with the evolution of health systems in today’s environment, similar to the ongoing transition at KentuckyOne Health.

Combs holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri, and is a certified public accountant. He and his wife, Janine, have six children.

About KentuckyOne Health
KentuckyOne Health was formed when two major Kentucky health care organizations came together in early 2012. KentuckyOne Health combines the Jewish and Catholic heritages of the two former systems – Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare and Saint Joseph Health System. In late 2012, the organization formed a partnership with the University of Louisville Hospital | James Graham Brown Cancer Center.  The nonprofit system is committed to improving the health of Kentuckians by integrating medical research, education, technology and health care services wherever patients receive care. KentuckyOne Health has more than 200 locations including hospitals, physician groups, clinics, primary care centers, specialty institutes and home health agencies across the state of Kentucky and southern Indiana.
