KentuckyOne Health Partners with WLEX-18 in Search of “True Blue” UK Fans

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 10, 2013) – Local NBC affiliate WLEX-TV and KentuckyOne Health are teaming up this year to reward “True Blue” Kentucky Wildcat Fans through live broadcasts of “The True Blue Fan Report” and at “True Blue Fan Zone” events.

The True Blue Fan Report will air during the early news prior to game night (or day) at 5:55 p.m. and 6:25 p.m.  True Blue coverage continues following each game during LEX18 Late News (or Early News for day games).  During these broadcasts, KentuckyOne Health is offering up jackpot prizes throughout each sports segment for the truest blue fans.

In addition to the True Blue Fan Report, WLEX will host True Blue Fan Zone pep rallies at special community-wide events throughout UK football and basketball seasons.  These events will be a chance for the truest blue UK fans to socialize and win UK gear and other prizes.

True Blue Fan Zone events will begin in the coming weeks and include:

  • September 14, 2013 – Kentucky vs. Louisville Football - Thursday Night Live
  • October 18, 2013 – Midnight Madness Pep Rally & True Blue Fan Contest  - Fayette Mall
  • December 28, 2013 – Kentucky vs. Louisville Basketball – location TBD

The True Blue Fan program started in 1996 when the University of Kentucky won the NCAA Basketball Championship under Coach Rick Pitino.  The program was initially a button promotion to recognize Kentucky fans, but since has developed into a full-blown True Blue franchise.

About KentuckyOne Health

KentuckyOne Health was formed when two major Kentucky health care organizations came together in early 2012. KentuckyOne Health combines the Jewish and Catholic heritages of the two former systems – Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare and Saint Joseph Health System. KentuckyOne Health has more than 200 locations including hospitals, physician groups, clinics, primary care centers, specialty institutes and home health agencies, with nearly 15,000 employees across the state of Kentucky and southern Indiana.
